Abstract

This study examines the development of spiritual metacognition through a Scripture-based hypnoteaching method and its influence on transformative learning in Christian Religious Education (CRE). The research employs a multidisciplinary approach integrating theology and neuroscience to understand how biblical suggestion techniques influence neuroplasticity and spiritual-cognitive development. Through literature-based analysis, this study reveals that Scripture-based hypnoteaching creates distinctive metacognitive awareness that transcends conventional educational paradigms. The integration of biblical texts as suggested materials in relaxed consciousness states facilitates deeper spiritual reflection and enhanced retention of theological concepts. Findings suggest that this method simultaneously activates both cognitive and spiritual dimensions, resulting in transformative learning experiences that align with Christian pedagogical objectives. The research demonstrates how neuroscientific understanding of suggestion mechanisms validates traditional Christian practices of meditation and contemplation, offering evidence-based foundations for innovative CRE methodologies. This study contributes to contemporary educational discourse by providing a theologically grounded framework for understanding metacognition within faith-based learning contexts.
